Junior and Senior Level Web Application Developers and Engineers Needed.

We are seeking talented, motivated individuals for several contract-to-hire positions. The Pittsburgh-based office is offering 3 month contracts with potential for a full time position (post contract) for the following positions:

SR Engineer
Description: Modify, and enhance existing code that handles statistics and metrics on a media distribution system currently logging 2-3M transactions per day, delivering over 900TB of data transfer a month.
Requirements:
5+ years C/C++ and Java programming
Experience in designing/building large scale data warehouses
Understanding of data structures and caching strategies
Mathematics/Statistics background a plus
Distributed and Grid computing experience desired
BS in Computer Science or equivalent engineering experience required
MS/PHD preferred

SR Application Developer
Description: Design, build, and implement next generation media publishing and advertising systems enabling the publishing of audio and video content through the Internet to millions of computers, iPods, mobile devices, and home entertainment boxes.
Requirements:
5+ years Object Oriented programming experience
Extensive experience in LAMP, specifically OO PHP
Knowledgeable in MVC development principles
Previously built scalable applications handling 100,000+ users
Experience in developing APIs using REST, SOAP, XML-RPC

JR Application Developer
Description: Code and maintain media publishing and advertising applications enabling the publishing of audio and video content through the Internet to millions of computers, iPods, mobile devices, and home entertainment boxes.
Requirements:
2-5 years Object Oriented programming experience
Experience in LAMP, specifically OO PHP
Organized and detail-oriented (thorough code documenter)

UI Designer/Developer
Description: Design, code, and implement web based, front end interfaces for media publishing and advertising applications.
Requirements:
Experience in designing and programming in a MVC approach
DHTML, XHTML, Flash Actionscript, AJAX/JavaScript/JSON experience required
PHP programming experience greatly desired
Media player design experience, flash video, mp3 players, etc greatly desired
Education in ergonomics and ui design principles greatly desired
Proficiency in rapid prototyping, mockups, etc using standard graphics tools like flash, fireworks, photoshop, etc
Keen eye for design and style, with tendencies towards minimalism and clean lines

CODEC Expert
Description: Develop backend media transcoding and rendering engine to convert media to and from flash video, MPEG4, MP3, AAC, WMV, and 3gp formats and also to assemble (stitch together) multiple media files into a single file.
Requirements:
Superior knowledge of audio and video codecs required
Extensive experience in using FFMPEG required
Experience in FLV video rendering a must

All candidates must be comfortable working in the fast paced startup environment under tight deadlines. Must posess strong problem solving skills, be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team. Articulate and clear communication and code documentation is a must. A strong background or interest in new media (podcasting, web video, blogging, etc) is also greatly desired.

You need to be passionate about internet media, and have a strong desire to make a difference in the way people communicate and the democratization of media.
