WizzardX EXPANDS FROM PODCAST TO TELEVISION WITH INTERNATIONAL SYNDICATION DEAL
Lightworks Program Distribution Acquires Worldwide Distribution Rights for WizzardX TV
PITTSBURGH, PA/NEW YORK (March 25, 2009) – Wizzard Media (NYSE Amex: WZE), the world’s largest podcasting network, announced today that they have entered into an international syndication deal with Lightworks Program Distribution. Lightworks has acquired the worldwide distribution rights for WizzardX TV, an action sports lifestyle program.
Wizzard X TV is an on-line action sports video network and social site created in-house with integrated and episodic HD video programming (www.wizzardx.tv). WizzardX TV was produced by Skip Fredricks, the Emmy-nominated senior VP of content creation and syndication for Wizzard Media.
“WizzardX TV was produced from the ground up, initially in one-minute blocks of stand-alone programming for mobile phones,” said Fredricks. “These blocks can be combined into bigger, three minute blocks for podcasting, while those, in turn will be reversioned to create twenty-six half-hour TV shows. Wizzard X TV currently has a devoted Internet audience around the world and will help Lightworks further broaden its reach among traditional television and web audiences. Both TV and web distribution will be acting in tandem to expand viewership.”
“We are thrilled to announce that Wizzard Media has entrusted our company with the distribution of WizzardX TV worldwide,” said John Cuddihy, President and Managing Director of Lightworks Program Distribution. “As this generation is watching more and more content, it is imperative that we offer programs that can be viewed on traditional and new platforms, offering audiences optimal viewing convenience.”
